Course Description

Welcome to erase Online: Ensuring Safe and Caring School Communities.

  • Understand connectedness as key to a safe school
  • Identify worrisome behaviour
  • See your role in the big picture, and how to use the curriculum and core competencies to develop commitment to a safe and caring environment.

This course will allow you to do all of the above as you learn about school systems and their impact on safety. erase Online is for anyone who is part of a K-12 school community—including educators, counsellors, bus drivers, custodial staff, education assistants, other school staff and community partners such as child and youth mental health workers and police agencies.

This course contains a variety of activities, module quizzes and a final test.

Activities related to your unique circumstances will help you to identify personal areas of strength and areas for improvement. Knowledge Check exercises provide opportunities to practice what you’re learning. There is no score associated with the Knowledge Checks. At the end of each module, you will complete a short quiz that is scored, to demonstrate understanding of the material. You must pass each module quiz  with at least 90% to continue through to the Exit Assessment.

For your convenience, links to additional resources are embedded throughout the course and they will open in a new window.
